ABOUT
MUSIC
When solo, my music takes the form of cosy, introspective, and yearning emo folk songs. When joined by my band, The Pyjama Party, the music takes a funky pop/rock turn, with an emphasis on dancing the pain away in your bedroom, as opposed to letting the music wrap you in a cosy blanket.
JOURNALISM
I have recently graduated with a BA hons in Journalism & Communications from Cardiff University. From writing independent album reviews since I was a teenager to frequently contributing to university media, I am constantly expanding my repertoire.
POETRY
Though often just as serious in theme as my original music, my poetry serves as a more dramatic and, at times, humorous account of my thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Having first started writing poetry at the age of 16, I continue to progress and diversify with each new poem, with recent works being more performative as I begin to involve myself in slam.
ACADEMIC WORK
My academic work covers a wide range of topics, including popular music, political communication and PR, sexuality within contemporary arts, and more. My main area of interest, however, is our ever-growing relationship with digital technologies/communications, and how this is affecting the identities and experiences of specific groups within society, such as teenagers and artists. I explore this theme not only in essays, but across all mediums.
